On 6 May 2026, an informative session titled “Facilitating the Right to Know and Engaging Responsible Institutions” was held in Gjilan/Gnjilane, bringing together family members of missing persons, institutional representatives, and civil society activists.
The discussion focused on the challenges families continue to face, the role of institutions in addressing the issue of missing persons, and the importance of stronger cooperation between all stakeholders. Panelists shared insights on ongoing efforts, existing gaps, and the need for greater coordination to ensure that families can exercise their right to know the fate of their loved ones.
We thank all participants, especially the family members for their presence, openness, and continued trust. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Municipality of Gjilan/Gnjilane and Mimoza Kadriu from Directorate of Health for their support in facilitating this activity.
This activity is organized by the Missing Persons Resource Center (MPRC) through the programmatic activity “Facilitating the right to know and engaging mandate-holders” supported by UNMIK.
