Conclusion of the third out of five “Missing persons are not just a number” workshop project in Strpce.

The unresolved issue of missing persons, the pain and suffering of their families, and the violation of their rights represent a serious threat to the process of building trust and reconciliation between communities in Kosovo. That is why it is very important to raise awareness in society about this complex issue, especially among young people, in whose hands are the tool with which the future is created.

We thank Jasmina Jovanović, who is still searching for her father for almost 24 years now, for sharing her story and setting an example for young people to move on and not let the past affect interpersonal relationships.

Many thanks also to Yllber Morina, who explained the mission and mandate of the ICMP to the participants and its outstanding contribution to the process of elucidating the fate of missing persons.

This was the third out of five workshops that MPRC will facilitate as part of the project “Missing persons are not just a number”.

The project is supported by International Commission on Missing Persons with financial support from the Swedish International Development Agency SIDA.
