MPRC conducted a two-day workshop with women who are family members of missing persons.
The purpose of this activity was to provide a safe space and an open platform for families to express their feelings and thoughts, share experiences, and recognize and understand one another’s pain and suffering. This method proved to be highly successful in fostering trust and confidence among families from different ethnic backgrounds.
An art component was also included as a tool for social engagement and emotional expression, helping families process the struggles they have endured over the past 25 years.
A total of 18 women—mothers, sisters, and wives of missing persons from diverse ethnic backgrounds—participated in the workshop. Their feedback was overwhelmingly positive. During the activity, 15 paintings were created, which will be exhibited at the end of this month as the project’s closing event.
The participants expressed great satisfaction with the concept and requested more activities of this nature in the future.
